I don’t see VoiceWell in my voice app

The current system input is named BlackHole 2ch. Your nickname inside VoiceWell does not rename it. Install BlackHole separately and use that device in the receiving app’s microphone selector.

The input is too loud or distorted

Keep Auto Level on and bypass off. If Input near overload appears, move the mic back/off-axis and check its actual input gain. A digital limiter can’t repair audio clipped at capture. A pop filter can help with breath blasts; volume control alone does not remove proximity effects.

I hear nothing

Confirm VoiceWell is started, the selected physical mic is connected and macOS microphone access is allowed. Confirm delivery is BlackHole 2ch and that the receiving app uses the same input. Check that another app’s mute or input controls aren’t blocking the signal. Don’t change system defaults or restart Core Audio as a first troubleshooting step.

Someone behind me changes the sound

RNNoise doesn’t identify your voice. Overlapping speech may remain or cause conservative attenuation. Describe the situation in a message; don’t send a recording by default.
